I’m sure my constant excited posts are extremely annoying and I apologize - this is going to be my last post in here for a while - but I can’t believe how cool I was toward this on my listen. Maybe it helps that I’ve been driving around with it all day, but I surprisingly think I absolutely love it now? Like..it feels more “naturally” fun than White somehow, and despite a few missteps the melodies throughout are pretty classic Weezer. Also I think The End of the Game might be their best single in years.
Tried to dl a leak and it wouldn’t work. I’ll listen to this tomorrow lol. My hopes are that it’s a cheesy Weezer rock album.
Truly can not imagine a Weezer fan not liking "Aloo Gobi," let alone appreciating the album as a whole. "Numbers" is gorgeous. They really set out to turn classic Weezer songs into something else and succeeded with flying colors
Glad I caved and ordered the vinyl for that alone. If it really is rerecorded from these sessions, though, it is kind of baffling that they don't just record a full-on Blue Album sequel unless they simply don't want to. Also, Jared still gets me.
the clip of Rivers and Ric Ocasek from the Blue sessions at the end of "I Need Some of That" honestly has me worried they think this is the Blue sequel. which is an honestly haunting thought
Nahhh, I think they're more self-aware than they let on. Feel like it was mostly a tribute to a friend
there's one full bonus track, the one I posted upthread, and then a short snippet of Ric and the band joking around on a demo of "I Need Some of That". nothing else afaik
FYI, it’s currently believed that Thrown It All Away and Ric’s I Need Some Of That verse are ONLY on the indie store version of the vinyl, and not on the standard.
