I haven't listened to this yet but I did listen to Sheila and while it's not a perfect version of the song it is pure joy in melodic form

Vinyl only? If they trick me into buying this album ughghhh lol

 

it is, there's CD rips out already with only the 10 songs. unless they put it on streaming but let's be honest this is Weezer

 

I've Thrown it All Away was on the press stream so I'd say that bodes fairly well for getting an hq version at some point that isn't just a better vinyl rip

 

Not listening until Friday but I have a feeling this is not going to be a top 10 Weezer record

Ok I’ve come around on Sheila. I miss the goofy vibe of the original with harmonica and stuff but my nostalgia for that chorus just hits so strong.

 

I've kinda had a feeling since "Hero," but I'd love to be wrong!

 

Hero is so good. It's like a way better version of Ruling Me.

 

Not sure where all the Hero slander is coming from! Not that bad of a track

 

Idk, production feels pretty plastic and the lines about being Spiderman or whatever are pretty corny, even by this band's standards. Just doesn't work for me

I'm definitely gonna give it another go though because I listened to it on a really shitty day when I was super bitter and misanthropic. Feeling a lot better today so I'll probably end up liking it a lot more lol.

Anyone know of a high quality version of "I've Thrown It All Away" anywhere?

 

This album's pretty much what I expected, and it's definitely enjoyable. "Blue Dream" is extremely cheesy in the best way, but the interpolation works perfectly. "Shelia" is solid, "End of the Game" is still the best song on here but that's a high bar anyway.

Overall, I'd say they have a ton of good songs on here, maybe just a couple great, but nothing is nearly as bad as the worst of Black or Daydream

 

I'd say it's a solid and fun album and it's got what I love about Weezer in its DNA even though it's a bit different. Same with OK Human, it's different but it's got a Weezer feel to it. These last two albums have redeemed my love for Weezer after PD and Black (and Teal but I don't count it) disappointed the fuck out of me.

 

OK and Van are definitely the better duo than Pacific and Black (and Teal)

 

For sure, much happier with this result. And if Jake Sinclair is attached to the Seasons albums they're working on, then I'm so hyped.

while I would be able to pick my favorites from each album, they wouldn't mesh well together.
