New song is so much fun, immediately like it a bit more than "Hero." Feels a lot closer to "The End of the Game" in terms of that classic Weezer sounding chorus

 

Yeah, Beginning of the End is super fun, I am assuming the non-Bill and Ted version will be on Van Weezer

 

does the chorus melody remind anyone else of "Getting Up and Leaving"?

The only point of them putting out a Van Halen ripoff album was to play the songs for a stadium tour, so this makes perfect sense to me. I'm okay with it. Especially if we get Ok Human first. That's the one I've really been waiting for.

 

Weezer have given me like, a hundred albums already, I'm fine just going with the flow and getting whatever we get whenever we get it at this point

 

They never play songs from the albums they're touring on anyway lol why not just drop it

 

For most bands, I get it, but May 2021 is a bummer since sales won’t be huge and it won’t really change tour tickets with a bill that large. Oh well, I’ve been on the Weezer coaster this long so I’ll keep looking forward to it

 

Certainly they wouldn’t have worded it that way if Ok Human wasn’t on its way.

 

All I know is OK Humans is coming wooooo. Best news.

 

Yeah Weezer doesn’t need this album to come out right before the tour for the reasons already mentioned. This delay is just strange.

 

Did the math for fun, this was announced September 10, 2019 making it a 605 day album cycle

 

I always want new music from The Weez. It’s crazy to think about waiting almost another year for an album from a band that will probably have another album or two written by the time Van Weezer drops.

I also hope Green Day redeems themselves with another release before the tour after putting out their worst album lol

 

If Weezer did things that made sense to me, they wouldn’t be Weezer. By definition of who they are, this had to happen.

 

The song in that preview sounds like paint by numbers standard Weezer, which is fine I guess, haha.

And what is Ok Human? and why are we more excited for that one than Van Weezer?

 

it's an album they've been teasing for ages now. piano-based, Harry Nilsson-influenced album recorded with the producer of White at Abbey Road. supposed to have some of Rivers' most personal/idiosyncratic songwriting in years, and Brian Bell says it's his favourite Weezer album

in other words... a lot of reasons to be excited lol
