This new one is very Pacific Daydream and I LOVE it.

Feels very Black. Wouldn't top High As A Kite for me but replace Prince with that and it'd make a big difference

 

On first listen I don't think I like it more than any of the songs on the actual Black Album.

 

yes, it was gonna be the lead single and the music video for CKTH was basically created for "Midnight". the meme success of "Africa" pushed it all back and changed Black completely

 

as if I needed more reason to hate the success of that cover haha. gonna be hearing that at every Weezer show forever

 

Yeah, idk, it's fine, but I'm not convinced I like it more than any other track on The Black Album. The chorus is nice, but it definitely reminds me of "Living in L.A." more than anything. Can't stand the "bananas" lyric.

 

oooh ok now I see what's going on here. I thought "Midnight" was the next single from Van Weezer leaking early, so I was certainly lost.

Anyway, I like the chorus of this song but the verses aren't the best

 

Rivers just confirmed on his Zoom stream him and Jason Cropper wrote a song together for the album

according to this, a new song called “hero” was revealed on the tracklist, no idea when it drops though
