Shameless Green Day rip offs but I like them for that. There was a quote from Mikey on Weezerpedia (which I can't find now) about summer 2000; something about him and Pat getting stoned on the way to practice every day and the band having a good time knocking out demos day after day, the music contains that carefree spirit and I love it.

 

my favourite thing about this album rollout is that they've prolly fucking recorded two more albums since "The End of the Game" dropped lmao

 

It's weird that Green has somehow become an underrated Weezer record. I still hold it up there with their best. A notch below, but nowhere near as bad as Make Believe or anything after (excluding White). I don't know how poptimism hasn't scooped that up in terms of great pop-rock releases.

 

Green is good, but so is Make Believe

 

both are fine, and both could be drastically improved with a different tracklist... like every single Weezer album since the turn of the millennium. it really is wild how bad they are at knowing when they've got something good

The Pig demo remains one of the finest things to come from the Cuomo ever.

I think Rivers knows way more than y'all are giving him credit for lol I just truly think he doesn't care. Seems to me he operates on a "one for the fans, one for me" policy

 

Yeah I remember during the Ratitude era he was like "I knew fans were gonna hate this, I did it for me" or something to that effect.

 

Imagine writing, performing, recording, and releasing Can’t Stop Partying for only yourself

 

i can’t believe they went through the effort of making a song like that but didn’t put it out as a single

 

The OG Can’t Stop Partying on Alone 2 is amazing. The couple versions that were released for Raditude are atrocious.

Green is my favorite and Maladroit is my number 2. Everything else changes all the time for me.

in recent years I’ve found Hurley being near the top too, which is crazy lol.

 

Listened to the first five albums while working the other day and Blue is legitimately a perfect record if you ignore the lyrics to "No One Else"

 

The album version of Partyin is a permanent skip, the AOL performance with Chamillionaire is a top guilty pleasure of mine though
