"Unspoken" takes Hurley. Everything Will Be Alright in the End, Round One Da Vinci vs. The Futurescope Cuomo Trilogy Cleopatra va. Foolish Father The British are Coming vs. I've Had it Up to Here
I remember being so pleasantly surprised after my first listen to this album. Da Vinci Cleopatra I've Had it Up toHere
I hate the whistling in Da Vinci. They should've listened to Ocasek on that one. But the chorus is great. My gut says The Futurescope Cuomo Trilogy, Cleopatra, and The British are Coming. But I really should revisit the album before making a final decision.
IMO I don’t get the whole “return to form” thing about this album. Just because they kinda sounded like their early stuff again? The material sounds forced.. like they needed to make a rock record again to please the fan base. There are some cool songs on here but nothing to scream about imo
I mean, "return to form" means exactly what it sounds like. These songs sound a lot closer to the first three or four albums than anything since then. But it's also just better ans more honest songwriting. Look at even lesser beloved songs, like "Foolish Father" or "Eulogy for a Rock Band". Even as a rock record, this feels less like fan service to me and more like a record they needed to make in order to move toward the White Album and the records they're making now
