There is nothing weird about name dropping Audible in a song that sounds like it was written for an Audible web ad. I want Rivers talking about Audible in a crunchy, messy song like Do You Wanna Get High or Fake Smiles and Nervous Laughter. I will accept Rivers talking about Audible in a cringey 2000s Nelly Furtado style pop song.
yes! And I spent over a year waiting for more awesome Van Halen aping. And then the rest of the album was just off doing something else. Sigh
Wanting Rivers to make 2000's style pop songs just reminded me that I heard that awful Magic song he featured on the other day Thank god Raditude-era Rivers is no more
For real. I remember feeling so hyped upon first listen to White. This great “we are so back” feeling
how is making a full on orchestral pop album where all the songs flow together less weird, by any metric, than doing yet another crunchy big guitar album they've done half a dozen times before? some of you live in a different universe I swear lmao
EWBAITE was their “we’re so back album” then White was their “I didn’t know we could be more back than we previously were but here we are even more back” album
When I heard EWBAITE I was like “Woah this doesn’t really sound like Weezer Weezer but it’s really good” and then White came out and I was like “Damn this sounds like Weezer Weezer and it’s amazing.” He needs to do another co-write album with younger/next gen Weezer-influenced songwriters like EWBAITE or swallow his pride and release another Jake Whatshisname-produced album with the White sound.
I actually love the Audible song lol it's catchy as hell OK Human and EWBAITE are probably my favorite post-Pinkerton albums at this point, with White right up there with them too
