Humbled and flattered to have a handsome legend like Keanu portray me, Rivers Cuomo’s enemy as a Weezer fan who loves their good music and despises their bad music.

    Maybe so, maybe not.

Do other people know this Almost Weezer YouTube page? Holy shit, this stuff is amazing, especially the Haunt You Every Day.

It got a good overall reception I think and it avoids being one of the cringey Weezer records but I was so bummed by OK Human because it’s 3-4 best songs would be all-time top Weezer songs if they were recorded with Weezer guitars and the faux-messier production of Pinkerton or even the white album. I feel like good/off-the-rails Rivers is the dichotomy we kinda need more than good/plain-and-straightforward Rivers.

OK Human really clicked for me especially at the time it came out. I’d put it in their top 5

I prefer OK Human over Van Weezer, tbh

From my experience, hardcore fans of Weezer, Alkaline Trio and Metallica hate at least 50% of the output those bands have released.

  13. Without a doubt. Van Weezer feels like cosplay. Fun, but forced. And "Hero" is a bad song.

OK Human could definitely be top five for them.

I think All My Favorite Songs is their best single since, idk, Red Album? But unfortunately agree the rest of that album does nothing for me

Agreed — at least that it’s the only song I really liked on OK Human.

OK Human is like watching a Nic Cage movie where he plays it real and normal.

Even if the album is not great, like Van Weezer, I want Rivers to play Weezer guitars and be a weird little guy. Stripping out a lot of that made OK Human feel kinda boring for a band that is at least a spectacle of weirdness and bizarre choices when they’re at their worst.
