This story is crazy, Scott’s wife just got arrested for attempted murder. (and just days before they are set to perform at Coachella too)

“LAPD officers responded to a hit-and-run Tuesday on a freeway winding through the Eagle Rock neighborhood of Los Angeles. Three suspects fled the scene on foot -- one bailed out of his vehicle, climbed over a freeway embankment and ended up on a residential street.”

“As cops scoured the area, setting up barricades and blocking off streets, Scott's wife, Jillian Lauren emerged from the couple's house ... gun in hand as she began shooting, according to a law enforcement source, presumably at the suspect.”

“Officers yelled at her to drop the weapon, but cops say she ignored multiple commands, and they fired, striking her shoulder. She then ran back into the house.”

“30 minutes later, Lauren and her babysitter emerged from the house with their hands up, and surrendered to cops. Law enforcement tells TMZ, Lauren was taken to a hospital and booked for attempted murder of a peace officer.”

My jaw dropped once I read this headline and then it completely unhinged when I ready she walked out of the house with a gun and started shooting.

Wait, why was she trying to shoot anyone? Why was she involved? It says she was trying to shoot the suspect but got charged for trying to shoot the officers? The whole thing is wild.

I had to reread that headline like eight times. What on earth

Spin had a more (somewhat) clear write up. The hit and run was completely unrelated. A suspect from the hit and run ran into a neighborhood and while cops were looking for suspect they found Scott’s wife outside with a gun. Not sure why she was outside with a gun but it was completely unrelated to the other incident.

 

So wait, did she actually shoot or didn't she?

Meant to say Billboard and not Spin. Per Billboard:

“When officers ordered her to put the weapon down, the 51-year-old writer reportedly refused and then pointed the handgun at the police. A shoot-out then occurred, which led to Jillian sustaining a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.”

Edit to add: I guess it’s not clear their definition of shootout. Was it just a bunch of cops firing at her for her pointing, or were both parties shooting?

 

Apparently, there’s an additional charge of obstructing an ongoing police investigation because, when they arrested her, she told them her name is Jonas.

In all seriousness this is a wild headline. Seems like she just started shooting at the cops which… is certainly a decision. Good news it isn’t life threatening at least.

 

If she didn’t shoot how is she getting charged with attempted murder?
