I can't rank them but the "Weezer discography sucks after Pinkerton" view is one of the most tired and untrue stances. In terms of post-Pinkerton songs in no particular order: Photograph, Keep Fishin, Take Control, LA Girlz, Feels Like Summer, All Of The Good Ones, All My Favorite Songs, Can't Knock The Hustle, Mexican Fender, Knock Down Drag Out, Booger Sugar, Troublemaker, If You're Wondering, Go Away, Lonely Girl, etc.
EWBAITE and White renaissance was such a fun time to live through. I’m less high on everything after than most I think, as I’m not very into OK Human which is their next peak after White.
There are songs I like on every album and even whole albums I like, so I would not say the discog sucks after Pinkerton, but it would not be a stretch to say that maybe 20 of my top 25 weezer songs were released on the first two albums/bsides. I think the reunified output can both be underrated in some respects but also mostly not as good as the early albums, as boring a take as that may be. (fire Brian)
Honestly I love the entire EWBAITE -> Van Weezer run (other than Teal which I don’t count and a few Black songs) really wish they’d play a show of all newer stuff
Imagine thinking your parent is a raging drunk for years only to find out you were horribly mistaken.
Kind of fitting the way Rivers is now a zen buddhist guy despite posturing himself as a real rock star type in his music lol
I love that backstory. When I was a kid, my parents friends were like huge canonical figures when, in hindsight, many were just casual friends they never hung out with again. I also remember having a photograph of one of my dad’s friends who was dressed as the Joker for Halloween and I thought that is just how he looked. Purple suit, white face, and green hair. Lol.
I saw the post about that show like 12 hours after they posted, way too late, but damn I wish I could have gone
