Fully expecting Rivers to code an AI in his likeness that will be releasing new Weezer records until the sun explodes.

 

This is best case scenario. I know Rivers went through a megalomaniac period, but at this point, I worry that he could see the band's lineup as too iconic/recognizable to change, even though Brian is ABSOLUTELY replaceable.

Unless there is substantial evidence, I doubt they acknowledge it. Surprised there hasn't been anything that's come out about Rivers given his general asshole behavior from 1994-2002 and his penchant for massage parlors.

Wow, the fact that people seem to have openly known about this suggests that it is incredibly prolific. I hope everyone affected is okay. I thought that statement was excellent, too.

As an aside, I'm gonna be fully selfish and say I really hope they boot him out but don't break up, because I'm finally seeing them live in June. But I have faith Rivers will do something.

 

I used to work at a restaurant he’d come into often. One time, he was eating and totally giving this girl the stare. After eating, he walked by her table and tossed her a note. She showed me after, it said “I’m Brian from Weezer, wanna fuck?”

I have a vague memory of him letting an AI do his social posts for a stretch of time and it’d say cryptic, quasi-salacious things. But it is a vague memory.

Didn't somebody post in here a few weeks ago that Rivers was working on the next Weezer album by himself, or something? Maybe Rivers was anticipating this news coming out.

Either way, Brian has got to go.

I'm not even a fan of this band and I'd consider it incredibly gross and indefensible if he was kept on. Hopefully Rivers does the right thing.

It reads as a group of fans making their intentions clear before releasing the evidence they've collected. Kind of strange, but it seems as though there has been drama within the fandom(?) surrounding Weezerpedia or whatever and I think it's very smart of them to take the time to clear up the rumor mill before moving forward, and also cool of them let people know that they are fans as opposed to someone just looking to rock the boat. I think some folks will be more believing of the allegations if they read that statement.
