I didn't even notice tbh, kind of thankful that we got a break after one album's worth of decent material across four EPs
Yeah this last week I realized I hadn't even gone on a Weezer kick at any point this year. I did listen to my Szns playlist which is 17 songs (the whole Winter EP included) and the project still feels worth it to me, a break wasn't a bad thing though
him leaving the rest of the band out concerns me lol. why would you start cooking a power pop album and keep Brian Bell out of the kitchen for it, makes no sense to me
“Power pop sugar” sounds good to me but let’s not forget how wildly inaccurate Rivers’s descriptions of SZNZ were
Are they out of the kitchen? I took it to mean it only started as a collaboration between the two and the band is getting involved now, not that the band was shut out altogether.
I actually brought out SZNZ again this week for some reason. Listening with no hype is great as I found myself really enjoying a big chunk of it. I still can’t get into summer as much but the rest are solid. There’s a good single LP here somewhere
If it's like those I'll like it. If it's an album of Smart Girls and I'm Your Daddy it can go in the trash. Lol who knows with Rivers
I like how he scribbles a specific genre into his songwriter notebook, closes it, gives it a nice pat or two, then just writes either a normal good or normal bad Weezer song.
Radi2de would be great it’s just an album of songs similar to The Prettiest Girl, Tripping Down The Freeway, Let It All Hangout, If You’re Wondering, and the closer
Watching the terrible Netflix Christmas freaky Friday ripoff movie The Family Switch and the entire Weezer band is in it lmao.
Do we think the Brian Bell allegations, presuming they're as bad as they sound and true, will be the end of the band? Because I could definitely see that being the case.
I feel like I've heard rumblings about this for a while. In all honesty, I doubt this really causes that much of a stir as I think everyone has been desensitized to the various misconduct allegations and chatter. Unless it's blatantly illegal and/or abusive, he'll probably slide.
I had not heard about any of this previously, but it's looking like I might be in the minority. Which is shocking considering how much I love the band
A quick Google search led me to a disgusting Reddit thread on r/Weezer where some losers make jokes about Brian’s reputation and call women slurs. The internet is great.
I'm guessing he is dropped from the band in the next little bit but highly doubt Weezer will end until Rivers dies
