My first show (not just Weezer but first show I ever attended without my parents) was 7/27/02, same tour!
energy was huge and the set was super tight. Highlights were the Pinkerton era songs, Snail Mail on IJTOTLOMD! And an electric version of Only in Dreams. hope they keep doing shows with deeper cuts going forward.
Crowd in GA was pretty dialed in. Nobody taking, well behaved, good energy. Only In Dreams the definitive highlight but pretty much every song brought it in some way. Not sure how I feel about so many songs having great sections removed: second verse of Good Life (I think), quiet part in Surf Wax, etc.
Yeah this definitely threw me off a bit lol. I wonder if those verses were cut for time? I’m glad we got the songs at all, but it was still weird.
Rivers thrives on crowd/fan reaction and it’s pretty clear to me that the reaction this tour has been super positive across the board. So I wouldn’t discount them continuing with a varied setlist.
The duality of man: the same guy raging to Blast Off! (cool) kept trying to start rhythmic clapping during the Only in Dreams build (nightmare). Came verrrrry close to yelling “stop clapping!” but managed to kind of tune it out.
He was jumping up and down and fist pumping after the Pittsburgh show before they did the band bow at the end. Dude was feeling it haha
Excellent show last night, probably the best I've ever seen them. The piano-led version of "Perfect Situation" was a nice way to change it up
I just listened to all 4 SZNZ front to back in one sitting and I found it too be VERY clear that Autumn is easily the best front to back, Summer is the worst and Spring/Winter are pretty patchy with a few highs and more lows.
@Drew Beringer on it too! 5. simple pages 4. death and destruction 3. why bother 2. the world has turned and left me here 1. you gave your love to me softly
