Basketball is so bad haha never change Rivers

 

Is it bad cuz of the goofy lyrics? Because compared to something like Records it is much better imo.

 

Records is bad too so I'm not gonna disagree there

 

Haven’t listened yet but I am laughing out loud at the lyrics of Basketball

 

I think Winter is the best of the EPs.

 

This was probably my least positive first impression of the four, but like all the other seems to have a couple good ones/total duds

 

Just pressed play. "I Want a Dog" still rules

 

Dark Enough to See the Stars isn’t too bad!

But every single EP has some of the ugliest chord progressions and melodies that Rivers has ever written.

Out of 28 songs, I don’t think I’ll be returning to a single one. Happy this project is over and we can move on to the next album!

 

"Iambic Pentameter" also rules. Clearly sounds like Elliott! /s

 

In the context of Weezer lows, "Basketball" is nothing

Pretty easily the most consistent of the four, and I really like Autumn. These got better with each release imo. Ideal 10-track release would likely just be the best of these past two with "Blue Like Jazz" and maybe "What's the Good of being Good" or "Thank You and Goodnight" thrown in.

Yeah I think Blue Like Jazz is probably my favorite song to come from this. Definitely need to give this another couple of listens though

 

Overall an extremely disappointing project, but I at least really enjoy a song or two from each so there's that.

 

Haven’t listened yet but it irrationally bothers me that Apple Music classifies the first 3 as albums but this one as an EP lol

 

Haven’t listened yet but these reactions are EXACTLY what I expected to read when Weezer releases a new project.

it bothers me that the order in spotify is winter, autumn, summer, spring

The bright side about Weezer is that even if you don't like a certain release with the band (album, EP, song), they're usually incredibly prolific so there's always something new around the corner.

 

Even the band members themselves have this philosophy.

 

Exactly. They've probably realized at this point they can't please everyone so they're just doing what they wanna do.
