Angels on Vacation is the best song on all three of these releases.

At least we can all agree there.

 

A Little Bit of Love is indefensible. But the rest of the record is anything but generic, weird esoteric lyrics, key changes, unique sonic palette. Might not be your taste, but hardly generic other than the single.

 

I cannot argue against that.

 

I cannot listen to Spring because the Shakespeare makes me happy song makes me cringe more than anything Weezer has done in their entire career.

 

More than Get Off On the Pain and Tastes Like Pain?

I feel like the Shakespeare song is the most authentic thing Rivers has written in ages

 

yeah I have no issues with that song. It's fun.

 

Tastes Like Pain is also unlistenable. Get Off On the Pain is at least a jam! I feel like authenticity is not always a good thing when it comes to Rivers lol.

Well I guess I like Train cosplay more than songs that use the word “castrated” and then rhyme it with “mutilated.”

 

I'm fine with Train cosplay and I like songs that rhyme castrated with mutilated.

Are we all just going to ignore the fact that somebody in this thread said that Love is the Answer is enjoyable like 10 pages ago?

 

They should be castrated.

 

I don't get the hate for that one really, what do people dislike about it? I feel like they've got a ton of worse songs.

 

After a few listens I feel similarly about this as I do the other sznz records, a few songs I really like, a couple fine somgs, a couple of very bad songs

I know that Weezer has always been very much Rivers and his vision, and every Weezer release is very Rivers centric. Rivers is Weezer etc but I do wonder to what capacity was the rest of the band even involved in these lol

 

I can't believe you guys are right, this new EP is great. This band's inconsistently continues to be hilarious
