Judging by the quality of these EPs so far, I have my doubts about that!!

I'd take every song on these EPs over Beverly Hills easily.

Maybe it because I was 15 when “Beverly Hills” came out and listened to that song a lot with my friends, but I’ve always been a lot more fond of it than most people are.

 

I feel like that must be what's happed to multiple people in this thread lol. Hearing it for the first time in 2022 it is godawful.

 

I was 19 when it came out and I hated it then and still hate it now. That said, I like Make Believe WAYYYYY more than most Weezer fans. That album cycle was also the last time I saw Weezer live.

 

Beverly Hills is better than some of Weezer’s entire albums lol

 

I love the Red Album.

I know no one brought it up. I'm just mentioning it because chaos.

 

Take off the three songs that aren't sung by Rivers and it's definitely one of their better albums.

 

'King' is one of my favorite Weezer songs of all-time.

I honestly don’t think automatic and thought I knew are that bad

 

See, but that's also what I love about it. It's such an out of nowhere and somewhat ballsy move to have tracks sung by the other members of the band, while also being a very on-brand move for Weezer.

I also don't think they're bad songs, as musical experiments go.

 

they're not Beverly Hills bad and yeah, I can appreciate the move but I never want to hear them again, haha. I swapped them out for the bonus tracks. Pig was maybe my favourite from that set of songs.

 

Beverly Hills is a fun song. That chugging guitar line is iconic. “I’m just a no-class beat down fool and I will always be that way” is an all-timer lyric really.

 

Anyways, I am excited to see everyone's personally curated SZNZ playlists once this thing is all out.

 

Nothing to add here other than it always tickles me how polarizing Weezers entire discography is, particularly amongst their biggest defenders. just people baffled by takes giving their own baffling takes
