I’m not banking on it but I may have optimistic weezer album expectations for the first time in 15 years

 

Surprised no one has ever rocked with this concept before to be honest.

If the pattern holds, the rest of the release schedule is:

Summer - June 21
Fall - September 22
Winter - December 21

 

A lot of artists talk about albums that never come into fruition, but a lot of artists are not Weezer

 

On Black Album release day in an interview:

"we actually have two new albums coming out soon, OK Human and Van Weezer"

ok, SURE Weezer, whatever you say....

the artwork for Spring is really great

iirc the word is 7 songs on each EP, plus a physical collection of all the EPs at the end which will have some bonus tracks. in other words we're getting a shitload of Weezer this year

 

No one cares but these will be INDIVIDUALLY RANKED in every future ranking from me, don't @ me

At this point I'm not too proud to say that I enjoy the hell out of like 90% of Weezer's music so I'm so happy this is actually happening

damn they brought in ethan gruska to produce with jake for spring, gonna be getting some weirdo synth stuff maybe

edit: probably more likely bc it’s acoustic-based and phoebe’s acoustics sound so good but still

 

it’s from a few months ago so it is probably old news for a lot of you but the Bandsplain with Barry from Joyce Manor is so good

dropping a single on a Wednesday and album on Sunday, rivers doesn’t care lmao

 

he's in it for the art, man

 

In all seriousness, I think it's refreshing and charming that Rivers just seems to do whatever he wants, even if at times what he wanted was to make commercially successful pop music

 

We make fun of him with love for these reasons.
