oh wow finally someone who agrees with me it's not a great album, there are some clunkers for sure, but I really like about half of that album. it also doesn't hurt that it was the first weezer album i heard (and one of the first full albums i heard in general, come to think of it)
We Are All on Drugs is a great song. Just gonna say it. Not a top song, or one of there best. But just great.
Make Believe is my least favorite album of theirs, no question. I only LOVE Perfect Situation, and like Pity and Best Friend... the rest I do not like at all
I understand why people don't like it, compared to their early work. I got into it when I was 15, shortly after it came out. I wasn't too familiar with their earlier stuff and also wasn't aware of how hated it was. Definitely some clunkers, but even the bad songs on there have charm to me, which is so different from something like Red or Raditude. Mostly, I think it's a solid pop rock album. Also, no song on there is worse than "Heart Songs."
oh boy this again at the very least you scrubs have come around to the fact that Maladroit is a fantastic album
Weezer: Pacific Daydream - Music on Google Play Tracklist is out. Except for track 9. Unless that's the actual name for it.
Very much agree with all of this. I genuinely love "Perfect Situation," "This is Such a Pity," "Hold Me," "Freak Me Out" and "Haunt You Every Day."
I don't really have an opinion on any Weezer album that isn't Blue, Pinkerton, EWBAITE, or White (and to a lesser extent Hurley). I don't think I've ever actually sat down and listened to any of the other ones in full. Just singles and random songs once in a while.
I'm pretty much on an all Riot Fest music diet right now, but I will give it a go in the coming weeks. I have so much to catch up on too...
I wanted to like Maladroit, but it just reminds me too much of a "rock band" doing all the chicest rock band things. Most of Green never really caught my attention, but Keep Fishing is great. That is very true about Raditude. I have zero attachment to it. None of the songs were that popular. I had already been into them. It was just such a snooze.
Someday I will write a book about the curious ups and downs of Weezer's career. Absolutely fascinating to me.
Even tho "Make Believe" is somewhere in the bottom of my top Weezer Albums I really really LOVE "Hold Me", "Damage in you heart" and "This is such a Pity". Surprisingly the only songs that I always skip/can't stand are "We are all on Drugs" and "Best Friend". Sooo for me it's 10 out of 12 hmm.. maybe I should place it higher in my Top weezer albums.. 1. Pinkerton 2. Maladroit 3. Blue 4. Hurley 5. White 6. Green 7. Ewbaite 8. Make A Believe 9. Red 10. Ratitude Higher than EWBAITE..? hmm...
"Death and Destruction" and "Slave" are straight up classics in my book, I rank these two songs higher than "Blue"/"Pinkerton" classic songs. I was so happy when they played "Slave" on Spotify Acoustic Sessions, they could play any other song from "White" (to give it some push/extra promotion) or some other fan favorite song but they went for "Slave"
This is honestly a great ranking! I'd put Green in between Blue and Hurley but yeah this is pretty spot on.
I don't wanna rank albums but I will say that the first four and white are the only good ones 10. Longtime Sunshine 9. Blast Off! 8. The Good Life 7. In the Garage 6. Waiting on You 5. Susanne 4. No Other One 3. Only in Dreams 2. Across the Sea 1. My Name is Jonas
