finally taking a break from Brand New to come in and say I absolutely love Mexican Fender. I still don't care for Feels Like Summer though.
The new production on Feels Like Summer really elevates it for me. Just wanted to say it again for the record.
It's not so much a new version as the production is just different and it sounds like some of the guitars/drums may have been re-recorded. The whistling also sounds less prominent
Mexican Fender is okay. Sounds like a pretty typical Weezer song from the mid-2000's. I also haven't listened to Feels Like Summer enough to notice any production differences but I do like that song
After 3 days of repeating the hell out it I can easily say that I loooooove "Mexican Fender" as much as I love "Feels Like Summer"! I'm probably the only here who thinks Weezer is doing great since Hurley (2010)
Did anyone ever listen to the new Scott and Rivers album? It's mostly all Japanese, so definitely hard to get into haha. There's a Japanese version of California Kids on the album though, I always find it fun to hear songs in different languages
They're doing pretty good! Except Hurley sucks. It's completely forgettable in every single way. That to me is their least interesting record (clos second is Make Believe), which is a far worse offense than just being bad in the first place.
wowwww... Sucks??? "Trainwrecks" and "Run Away" are in my Top 10 Weezers songs (pls give them one more try) When I'm on shuffle I never skip "Hang On", "Unspoken", "Brave New World", "Smart Girls" and "Time Flies" I do it on "Memories", "Ruling me" and "Where's my Sex" thats like 7 songs out 10... Not even near to be a sucky album for my personal taste.. and as I mentioned above.. Trainwrecks and Run Away.. I would even buy the Vinyl just for these 2 songs..
How can Run Away and Trainwrecks be a top 10 song when Pinkerton + Blue + the b-sides are over 30 songs?
Come on .. you gotta give it one more chance.. blast this in your car or with headphones at max volume.. the production.. the ambient stuff in there, the gang vocals.. Rivers raspy voice.. the repetitive chord progression..after 7 years that song is still doing it for me
I am one of those weirdos who are not praising Blue album.. I probably like "Maladroit" more than "Blue" (BLASPHEMY ikr) For me it goes like this 1. Pinkerton 2. Maladroit 3. Blue 4. Hurley 5. White 6. Ewbaite 7. Green 8. Make A Believe 9. Red 10. Ratitude
Hurley is fine but no songs on it can even get close to touching anything on blue, Pinkerton, or even white
In the end it all comes to personal preference, just because Blue wrote history and it's a classic album in many peoples book, it means nothing to me when it comes to my shuffle-weezy-playlist.. I would hit the skip button on "My Name is Jonas", "Say it isn't so", "Buddy Holly", and "Surf Wax America" (not because they're overplayed to death) these tunes just don't do it for me like "Hang On" or "Run Aways"... I also believe "Maladroit" is underrated af! "Death and Destruction" and "Slave" are masterpieces! Easily in my personal top 10 weezer tracks aswell!
I'd put Memories in my top 10 Weezer songs. @ me if you want, I don't care. The song bangs and I never understood the hate it gets.
Probably cause it was a weak first single.. not bad song by any means.. but pretty much skip-able for my taste..
