Nothing will ever be as bad as: Me and JD chilling in the shack Sharing Chiclets from the same pack 180-proof Vitamin Water Energy flavor Take us to your daughter I want to see you pretty ladies on the dance floor (dance floor) Put your hands up in the air like you don't care no more (we don't care no more) We gonna hit the town tonight, we were born to rock
Same, I didn't get it on the initial listen, but the hook sunk into me under particularly "Summery" circumstances.
It's pretty shallow and silly in the lyrical department, but something about it just clicked. There are parts that work - I love the"we look good together" line in the bridge. Put simply, it's a Weezer song, haha
Any ideas of if it's indicative of the next record? I remember hearing "Thank God For Girls" which also grew on me within context of The White Album.
I don't, unfortunately. The extent of my knowledge comes from this thread, just that the album was pushed back a bit so that the band could work on it a little more which I think indicates more of a rock direction than "Feels Like SUmmer" indicates. But honestly, at this point, I wouldn't be upset if this version made it on the record, so long as it's as fun and diverse as the last couple albums. I'm just craving new Weezer music, haha.
Weren't they going to re-record "Feels Like Summer" for the album? Like a different version of the song? I don't know, I'm so confused about what's going on with this record at this point.
Really interested to hear this full song. Based on the clip it seems like they course-corrected the direction of the record from where it was at the beginning of the year, but who knows. Also, I don't think I ever said this in here but wow, the acoustic version of Feels Like Summer is so, so good.
It's going to be just as good as the last two. Ya'll can quote me and tell me I'm right in two months
The last two albums were great. Best since Pinkerton, easily, which isn't saying much but still. Like I said above, sounds like the reaction to "Feels Like Summer" made them sort of re-evaluate the direction they originally planned to go in, hopefully pushing them more toward a sound that builds on what they accomplished with the last two.
