Happy Hour is definitely my favorite, which is funny because every review I've read cites it as the worst song.
Also I'm gonna open up a bit here and admit in my 16 years of weezer obsession this is quite possibly the first time I realized surf wax is two words
Alright I’m gonna do an album ranking because I like rankings. Blue Pinkerton White Green Maladroit EWBAITE Pacific Daydream Red Make Believe Hurley Ratitude I like stuff from basically every album though
pinkerton blue green red rad hurley make believe never listened to any other record. ewba, white, and this new one have me interested to change that fact tho...some day
I can't believe a song as good as Tragic Girl was kept hidden for so long. That's a top 5 Weezer song to me
Sort of want them to release one more summer/beach album so we can have a trilogy. Love trilogies. Big trilogy guy here.
I also love hearing “Eulogy for a Rock Band” immediately after “Back to the Shack” and thinking this is the same song done about million times better.
dislike ^ The only pre-release song I really dug was "Feels Like Summer." When I listened to the whole record for the first time, the latter half seemed strongest (the non-singles). At this point, all of the singles have grown on me and I really like this front to back. Only song I skip right now is FLS because I played it out months ago haha.
Pretty much exactly the same. I listened to Mexican Fender exactly twice before the album came out and didn't like Beach Boys or Happy Hour much at all. FLS is also my only sometimes-skip now.
ive only had 1 listen so who knows, maybe itll grow on me! idk theres a song or 2 here i like but nothing really grabbed me like the last two. time will tell
My wife loves FLS so we play it quite a bit. But this album has grown on me. Beach Boys and Get Right are the only two tracks I skip right now.
I like this better than EWBAITE. That album has some great songs but seemed like they were trying too hard to be the band they used to be. I dig “White” because it feels like a great mix of old Weezer and new Weezer. I like this album because it just feels fresh, and executed better than their older attempts at pop. That being said, I found it interesting that Rivers said the last two records were basically just to regain respect within the fan base again so they could get another swing at pop music. If I could find the interview again I’ll link. That’s kind of what I thought about EWBAITE when it came out
Ooof this didn't debut well. Debuted at #22 with 21k sold (sales + streaming). Thats a pretty big drop from the White Album that debuted at #4 with something like 50k.
