Put off listening to the whole album til just now. Honestly it's really pleasant. Vibe wise it's like an album of Island In The Sun kinda I feel. Why the hell did this come out end of October seriously lol

 

Agreed the timing of the release is weird. I think this is fine. On par for a underwhelming Weezer album. A few duds, some songs I'm indifferent towards, a few keepers. Really like Sweet Mary, QB Blitz and Diane were solid too.

 

QB Blitz is the true standout here. Sweet Mary and Weekend Woman are good too. FLS, Happy Hour, and La Mancha Screwjob are dumb but fun. The other four songs are pretty bad, especially Get Right .

 

"QB Blitz" is the standout but "Get Right" is bad?! Surely you must be mixing up the titles..

 

I think this is my favorite off the album, and I'm really liking the live version:

 

My rankings after my initial PD listens, I like a lot, miles better than Raditude and Make Believe imo.

Green is Weezer canon, idk why so many people shit on it. It's a fantastic pop rock album

 

It's been a while since I've listened to MB-Hurley, but from memory I'd rank them as

6. EWBAITE
7. Make Believe
8. Pacific Daydream
9. Red
10. Raditude
11. Hurley

 

It continues to amaze me how many people don't like Make Believe. It's probably my 3rd favorite Weezer album.

 

It's not that I don't like it, I just think there are 6 albums of theirs that I prefer over it. It has a handful of really great songs, but also some really bad ones.

 

The only songs on Make Believe that I think are really bad are Beverly Hills and My Best Friend. I legitimately like every other song on the album.

 

Yeah I enjoyed that last night. I'm liking this album way more than I thought I would

 

Thank you for saying this haha, it’s puzzled me as well. Songs like Hold Me and This is Such A Pity are really under appreciated imo

 

They are for sure, but there's also Beverly Hills, My Best Friend, Peace

Perfect Situation is the best song on Make Believe, My Best Friend is also good. I don't Like Beverly, Peace, Drugs, Damage, Other Way, Freak Me Out or Haunt You Every Day... so I guess that's why it's not a favorite of mine

 

If I gave any of you a few beers and put on "Beverly Hills" you'd be singing your ass off. Don't lie.

 

Yeah, I'd do the same to Mambo #5 though

I actually really like this on first listen. Still prefer white album though.

 

I think I like this album more than most. It's no Blue/Pinkerton/EWBAITE/White but it's very easily my 5th favorite and I consider myself a big Weezer fan

 

I don't hate Make Believe, they just have better albums.

Although its funny that even with other MB defenders, my views are totally different lol. Like I LOVE Peace and I think My Best Friend is pretty good too. I actually really hate This is Such a Pity which everyone else seems to love.

Also I'll defend Beverly Hills. Its such a stupid song but I always sing a long to it.
