Just finished my listen of their entire discography. Some initial thoughts: - Hurley is so much worse than I remembered it. - Death to False Metal has a few funs songs but it's mostly trash - I used to think Make Believe was god awful....I still think its not good but there are at least 4 great songs on it. - Aside from the non-Rivers songs, Red is a great album. - Pacific Daydream isn't too great, but its far from their worst. I think I'd rank them like this: Pinkerton > Blue > Maladroit > White > Green > EWBAITE > Red > Pacific Daydream > Make Believe > Hurley > Death to False Metal > Raditude
Flawed as this may be, it’s really working as beach music for the vaca I’m currently on. Like the back half especially.
Switch Green and Maladroit and that's more or less me. Although to be honest, I never really listen to anything outside my top four anyway.
Blue > Pinkerton >>> Maladroit > White > EWBAITE > Green >>> Pacific Daydream > Make Believe > Hurley > Red >>>>>>> Raditude
From Hurley I love Unspoken and Hang On. Enjoy Memories, Trainwrecks, Ruling Me and Run Away. And then there's four songs I want to die in a fire. Pretty typical pattern of that era of Weezer for me lol.
Yeah those two were actually the hardest for me. PD is pretty bland but theres no straight up awful tracks, just all pretty meh. Whereas Make Believe has some awful tracks, but also some of my favorite in their catalog (i.e. Perfect Situation, Haunt You Everyday, Peace). Actually the more I think about I probably would switch them now.
Honestly White is probably my favorite Weezer album ever. IMO the perfect blend of their more hooky stuff and their older stuff. This comes from someone who actually enjoyed a decent amount of Raditude and Hurley though haha
All rankings are gonna be different, and they will all be fine so long as Blue & Pinkerton are in the top 3 and Raditude and Hurley are in the bottom 3.
The only songs I really don’t like off Rad are “Love is the Answer” and “In The Mall.” I truly don’t think the album is as bad as it gets credit for. Maybe it’s not as strong compared to the rest of their catalogue.. but I think there’s some fun sing-a-longs on there. Same with “Hurley.” But anyway.... **shamelessly bumps “i’m your daddy”**
Ranking Hurley below Raditude, Red and Make Believe is a surefire way for me to know if I fuck with you or not. I don't
It was fantastic. Literally nice every day I was there. Got there Thursday and just returned home today. Clean air, fall leaves, perfect temperatures, and amazing views...all a great experience.
