Ah gotcha. I was definitely fully in on Get High. With KOTW I was probably like "ok two in a row" now I can have expectations haha
Thank God For Girls is also great and easily better than the first three singles for this album. Weekend Woman is the only one in contention to beat it.
"Beach Boys" The rest I actually dig "Feels Like Summer" more than I did initially, maybe Butch remixed it a bit.
I think that's one of the most run of the mill songs they've done. It's so boring and middle of the road it's painful. Completely uninteresting.
Not sure I get why people would be worried after Do You Wanna Get High? I know the comparison gets tossed around whenever Weezer puts out something kind of not shit but that song is the most Pinkerton-esque of the last two albums
It might just be the drug connection, but "Do You Wanna Get High?" always reminded me more of Green Album. "L.A. Girlz" is the one that makes me think of Pinkerton
Do You Wanna Get High is written about Rivers 2000/2001 girlfriend, same as the one from O Girlfriend so it makes sense it would have Green vibes
RE: Do You Wanna Get High - it's the buzzy keyboard sound that gives me Pinkerton vibes. They were using that sound in a lot of b-sides during those sessions.
There is nothing on Green that is close sonically to Do You Wanna Get High? Not even Hash Pipe. And LA Girlz is totally Blue.
The muted chugging is totally "Hash Pipe." And yes, the synth is reminiscent of Pinkerton B-sides, but guitarwise, the song might have more in common with Maladroit than anything else. but also who fucking cares, the song rips
Do You Wanna Get High? has Pinkerton written all over it. At this point with Weezer albums I just take what I can get. Enjoy the good songs, forget the bad ones are there.
I thought people were actually really into that one and hoping it sounded more like that than "Thank God For Girls" Maybe I'm remembering wrong, I'm old.
