red is better than i remember. i’d probably flip it with make believe from what i had yesterday. some of the other guys singing doesn’t work but tracks like automatic, thought i knew and dreamin are solid
Cold Dark World and the opening to Greatest Man Who Ever Lived are both bad but otherwise Red is a solid record.
Red Album should just be an EP of the first four songs plus Dreamin' imho. The rest ranges from forgettable to bad
Troublemaker is fun, Greatest Man is great, Pork & Beans is solid, Heart Songs was one of the cheesiest Weezer songs before the 5 years of releases that came after so it's better now, Dreamin' is solid, Thought I Knew is aight, Automatic is fine, and Angel & the One is good. Now, I will say that Red album came out when I was like 13 and was the first new Weezer album released after my fandom started.
the rest of the song is good but the opening portion is atrocious and a maximum cringe moment in their discography
I'm glad this is such a short rollout. I think to PD and it was annoying that only the last five songs on a ten song album were new haha. I'm sticking to listening to the single a couple times and that's it if they manage to release anything else in 9 days
greatest man has cool portions but some dogshit ones too, which comes with the territory of the experiment they did good red songs: pork and beans everybody get dangerous dreamin thought I knew automatic angel and the one fine: troublemaker greatest man heart songs dogshit: cold dark world
Everybody Get Dangerous and Troublemaker sound like they came from an American Pie soundtrack, and not in the cool way
Every time I listen to side A of Make Believe, I think to myself “gee I don’t get why everybody hates this record, this rocks”, and then I listen to side B and I completely understand
