It is endlessly listenable. I love TBP, and all of their music honestly, but Danger Days is a pretty cool swing for them to take.

This except the gap between Three Cheers and Bullets is small enough to switch those 2 around all the time

I went with Three Cheers but I also really like Bullets. The two switch around as my favorites, but considering Three Cheers got me into MCR, I went with that.

  5. Three Cheers for me. Haven’t heard DD since it came out, I’ll have to revisit that one soon

    1. Black Parade
    2. 3 Cheers
    3. Bullets

Bullets was my intro to the band when it came out. I was a huge Thursday fan in high school so anything Geoff Rickley was involved with I was all over. Got to see MCR tour that album as they opened for TBS, Recover and From Autumn to Ashes. There was like 20 people there to see them.

Never listened to DD. My tastes had moved on by that point. Should probably go back and check it out.

The Black Parade is their record that will endure and endear them to future generations of music fans and critics. It’s the one people will take them seriously for in the coming years. 3 Cheers is an emo staple and will be championed as such, but it still feels nascent compared to BP. More of a harbinger of things to come.

The Black Parade is an easy pick for me. Three Cheers is still really solid but not quite to the same level as TBP. Haven’t listened to Bullets in forever and don’t think I’ve ever listened to Danger Days. Not even sure why. I’ll give it a shot one of these days.

    Sending my love

Pleased with all the DD love in this thread and surprised at TBP not being the clear favorite.

I’ve listened to Danger Days the least (just haven’t made much of an effort tbh!) and I love Three Cheers (got me into the band in high school) and Bullets (a solid first album) but The Black Parade is my favorite. It’s become one of my most listened to albums since my sister passed away in September and not only that but I think it’s musically and lyrically brilliant while exploring the concept of death in a way that’s mature and original. I also love Hanif Abdurraqib’s article on the 10-year anniversary of TBP: https://www.google.com/amp/www.mtv....iversal-grief-that-was-ahead-of-its-time/amp/

I’m currently planning a Black Parade/MCR tattoo that’ll somehow tie into a commemoration piece for my sister. Never expected them to mean this much to me 15 years later (I probably stopped listening to MCR for a good chunk of my college years) but they’ve become one of my favorite bands.

UPDATE: I’ve begun listening to “Danger Days” much more thanks to this thread and I really dig it! Still a bit early to see if I like it better than “Bullets” but it’s a fun/good album.

Danger Days is definitely the one I go back to the most, so that's what I voted for, but I also still kind of think TBP is their best? I'm just in the mood for the Danger Days style more often

I want a new MCR album more than anything. Life isn't the same without a favourite band. I want to feel the same level of hype I had for Danger Days again.

This is impossibly hard for me.

Three Cheers > The Black Parade > Danger Days >>>>> Bullets

The first three are genuinely SO close that if you ask me on a different day, I might have a different order. I basically never revisit Bullets. I'd put Conventional Weapons miles ahead of it, too.
