I have to go with Infinity on High. Ten years ago it would’ve been one of the first two. I haven’t liked anything since they’ve come back.
Take This to Your Grave is the only album I'd give above a 3/5 to. Folie a Deux is underrated amongst the general public, but not here, because that's my second favorite album of theirs.
I’d be ok with either FUNCT or IOH at #1, and I played both of those to death on the crappy PC in my basement growing up. Personally I find Folie to be very overrated. That’s probably my least favorite of theirs, but it might just be that it came out around the time that I thought I was “too cool” for FOB
FAD is fantastic and their best. Cork Tree and Infinity are tied for me. Beauty/Psycho after that. I really did not like Mania at all. TTTYG would probably be universally panned if it was released today. I also have no idea what Save Rock and Roll is. How did I miss an entire album haha. wow
I went SR&R. There's a lot tied into it that I find hard to articulate, but it's the one I come back to the most.
FAD for me. Though out of all of my favorite bands, FOB are probably the only one where my favorite record is not a clear decision. A lot of nostalgia clouds TTTYG and FUCT. IOH was a record i initially dismissed but have come back to. I genuinely think MANIA is superb. I don’t know. It’s tough.
Corktree was a HUGE formative album for me so I can't see any other of theirs topping it. One of my best friends gave me my CD copy of this back in 7th grade for my birthday and it stayed in my walkman for a good 3 months straight.
Infinity > Folie = Cork Tree > Take This To Your Grave (this would be honestly higher if the lyrics aged well... which they didn't) > all the other ones
Folie. Those songs are just massive. They mastered what they were trying to do on that album and it shows.
