With Transatlanticism turning 15 this week, lets look at their whole discog and pick faves!
Photo Album for me. The middle chunk of their work is just wonderful, but this was their peak for me. Its the first record I owned on vinyl and I listened to that thing every single night for years.
My favorite Ben Gibbard album is easily Give Up tho.
It’s a toss up between We Have the Facts and Transatlanticism but I wound up voting for the latter since it’s the first one I truly loved. I’ll always associate it with Christmas break in 10th grade.
we! have! the! facts!
2. We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes
4. The Photo Album
5. Something About Airplanes
6. Narrow Stairs
7. Thank You For Today
9. Codes and Keys
The rest are all fairly close together for me
Trans is so firmly #1
I go back and forth on Trans and Plans.
WE HAVE THE FACTS AND YOU ALL SHOULD BE VOTING FOR IT
This. For now, it’s Plans so that got my vote
Transatlanticism with Plans close behind
I also voted for Plans.
So many are so good but Transatlanticism is still so easily their best.
it is not very easy at all bc of a little record called we have the facts!!!
which is also much better than plans
Plans > Facts
Both are fantastic though but neither can really hang with Trans imo. The only thing that's really come close was Give Up.
Facts is just okay for me. No way it’s better than Plans.
Trans. That album is extremely special and very sentimental for me.
“someday you will be loved” sucks and there is no song that sucks on facts
True, but there's nothing on Facts that I like as much as "What Sarah Said" or "Brothers on a Hotel Bed" or "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" or "Stable Song" or "Your Heart Is an Empty Room" or "Marching Bands" or "Summer Skin" or... (you get the idea).
weee spread out and occupy the cracks in the urban streeets
IDLE NOW, I REARRANGED THE FURNITURE AS YOU SLEEP,
AS YOU SLEEP, AS YOU SLEEP!!!
Scientist Studies is one of their best and when the drums kick in on Title Track track? *chef kiss*
Lowell, MA is worse.
Lowell Ma rocks my socks
