Clint Mansell's work on the Fountain and Mass Effect 3 are two of my favorites of his.
Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings work.
John Williams Jaws score: beyond the iconic "duh-dun", there's some really great and lively stuff.
Josie and the Pussycats
Hans Zimmer's Man of Steel score is a hundred times better than the movie.
Under the Skin's score is incredible in how it compliments and enhances the film
Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross's the Social Network
and every Tony Hawk's Pro Skater/skate. soundtrack is perfect.

 

Empire Records had Gwar, so they get points immediately.

My favorite soundtrack is for the film Cannibal Holocaust. Bizarre/gross movie. Beautifully haunting soundtrack.

 

The game soundtrack is wonderful too.

Not Another Teen Movie soundtrack has some awesome covers.

 

So much yes. Such a great soundtrack/movie.

 

The music on Friday Night Lights, the show, has always stuck with me. Always liked the song choices on Breaking Bad, Scrubs and HIMYM, too.

 

Pretty sure the majority of the music in Friday Night Lights is by Explosions in the Sky, if you dig that you should check out their albums.

 

I have The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place, but certainly need to dive head first into their full discog.

 

The only time I ever watched Friday Night Lights, the music felt so forced and loud. I love the music and the band, it just didn't work for me.

 

Like Crazy and Cloud Atlas have two of my favorite scores. Also, Parenthood had some of the best uses of music in a television show ever. They created some truly spectacular moments.

Lord of the Rings.

 

I'll sound like a broken record, but LOTR and There Will Be Blood. Other soundtracks: Interstellar, The Fountain, Sunshine, Jurassic Park. The Revenant is a new favorite. And any freaking thing that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have churned out.

 

Almost forgot Mogwai's soundtrack for Les Revenants. Stunning.

 

The soundtrack for Chrono Trigger is by far my favorite video game soundtrack

 

The Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack.
