This is tough. But my favorite film from the 80s is probably Back to the Future. There are so many good films. John Carpenter was pumping out some films during the decade.
I watched The Thing for the first time recently, so I can say with no tinge of nostalgia that's it's maybe the best sci-fi/horror film I've seen.
If Ferris Buellers' just a figment of Cameron's imagination, where the hell does that leave Sloane???
It's one of the most intense films ever, you can cut the paranoia with a knife and the locked in isolation of the location really adds to the suspense! A classic no doubt!
I remember the scene where some jock is talking shit to Slater and he just pulls that gun and unloads on him! It's a brutal introduction.
Aside from Heathers (still can't believe no one mentioned that) I'd say my other favorites from the 80s are: The Shining Airplane Scarface This is Spinal Tap Blood Simple The Breakfast Club Ferris Beuller Stand By Me Blue Velvet (one of my absolute favorites) Say Anything Field of Dreams This is probably my least favorite decade for movies.
Sorry, haha. Didn't see that. I even doubled checked to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Must have missed it.
