The series is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.”

The series stars Jenna Ortega, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Gwendoline Christie, Christina Ricci, Hunter Doohan, Percy Hynes White, Joy Sunday, Emma Myers, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Georgie Farmer, Naomi Ogawa and Moosa Mostafa.

Only watched the first episode so far but it’s giving me Chilling Adventures of Sabrina vibes

Shut it off during the first episode, it was just not very interesting

The trailer looked awful and Burton has been awful for awhile as well, but I love Ortega — decisions, decisions.

I'm loving this so far. It's giving me serious Veronica Mars vibes. I'm surprised the response here is so critical. The show is a lot of fun. Also, I could not get into Sabrina. I don't know why but it just bored me. This, on the other hand, has me intrigued.

I watched the first episode and my wife has been watching it so I've seen a bit here and there.

I hate this. It's all the things I hate about Netflix in one. I can't believe Tim Burton did this? Its shot so blandly. It looks and feels like all the Netflix shit that looks like it was made in a Netflix lab. Bland writing. Not 1% funny.

What made Sabrina work is that it actually presented a unique interpretation of the character...and by giving it the Riverdale, dark aesthetic....it worked. Same target audience but it works.

    This is just bland.

Pretty much what I expected from Burton. It was… fine. An average, easy weekend watch.

Burton hasn’t made anything of quality, for me, since Big Fish, so my expectations were quite low, tbh

Watched the first episode last night. Does this get better? It lacked all the humor of the films.

Also, not sure I’m feeling the very CW-ish teen vibe. I felt so old watching it.

Just finished episode 3. I’m enjoying it so far. Reminds me a bit of Harry Potter tbh.

I'm really surprised the hug at the finale got me as choked up as it did.

Just finished the eighth episode. I could predict some of what happened from way earlier in the season but it was still nice to see things get wrapped up. Definitely inspired a lot from the Harry Potter novels. It was a nice spooky season and I hope they continue. Based on the viewership numbers it should be renewed for like 5 seasons.

Also found out the actress who plays Enid is a fan of Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Legend of Zelda, and Marvel. She’s basically a male version of me tbqhf
