currently my favorite songs to come out of the wednesday / mj universe are all on rat saw god: bull believer, bath county, turkey vultures.
Elderberry wine might be the best song out of the camp. Rudolph is the one MJ song for me. Everyone talks about wristwatch and I’m like did you hear the riff in Rudolph? it’s Wednesday > MJ for me. I just prefer Karly’s lyrics more and I love how heavy Wednesday can get. I love when a band gets messy and Wednesday is not afraid to do that
Twin plagues is my favorite record by either but ya the cover honestly is my favorite song, it’s kind of cheating but a legitimately timeless recording in my opinion. HMs to you are every girl, wristwatch, quarry, Cody’s only, she’s leaving you
Twin Plagues I like the most throughout, I agree that Turkey Vultures, and Bull Believer are their best songs, but after that it’s Twin Plagues (the song) Cody’s Only, One More Last One. I just like when the guitars get really sporadic and Swirlies Esc, How Can You Live Is also their best slow song, the slower ones on the newer records just don’t hit as high. I don’t consider Elderberry Wine a slow one.
yeah actually probably my single biggest criticism of bleeds is that the way love goes feels like a direct revisit of what How Can You Live did on Twin plagues, but while being one of the weaker songs on the record instead of one of the best
My 4 year old is fucking OBSESSED with Elderberry Wine. She always wants to hear it first when we get in the car.
They were INCREDIBLE last night, Karly is absolutely fucking unbelievable live and Xandy is an underrated legend. Also no hate at all but its kinda funny that the new lead player looks kinda like an older, slightly chopped MJ
Also no bias but Phish Pepsi might’ve been the most fun tune and i’d be saying that even if me and no more than like 6 other randos in the room hadn’t gone wild at the Phish line
Yeah I came into that show kinda tired but the band killed it. Two sold out nights at BK Steel, wonder if they do Summerstage or Pier 17 next time they're in town.
