Yeah, I think Ben and Brianna recently finished recording the project's next LP.

 

Yeah they're definitely still active. They've always been on a slower schedule than most bands but since charmer this is seemingly their most sustained period of activity. Charmer and touring in 2014, that acoustic live album in 2015, more touring, some light shows and touring in 2016 while also recording their follow up to Charmer. I'd say we get something from them late 2017

That's excellent tbh, I was just tempering my own expectations bc they're very much a "band is secondary to the rest of our lives" band. Real interested in hearing what this will sound like, esp with Brianna contributing guitar parts for the first time. I also love tigers jaw a crazy amount lol

I love this tweet. I've always thought that Weatherbox surpassed SA a lonnnnng time ago. Cool to see Max agrees hyperbole or not.

I was listening to them earlier and going back through their records. It really hit me in my heart strings, all the memories...and how much brian's music means to me. It's really hard to describe that feeling but it's something special. Got teary eyed, heh. It's really bumming me out today that this band isnt around currently.....Long live the Box!

Brian Warren is opening for Kevin Devine in San Diego on June 8th.
I created an account when I saw no one had posted this. I had already gotten tickets to the show and when I saw he was added to the bill I was uncharacteristically excited.

 

I always get giddy when I see this thread bumped. Guarded, but giddy nonetheless.

 

i listened to TCD and Flies today it was a good day

 

Cautiously optimistic that this is an indicator that they're coming back in the near-ish future

 

Weatherbox covers a lot of musical ground during those two albums. Theres some kinda heavier stuff, some faster punk stuff, some straight up indie rock, slower acoustics, Bathin In The Fuss as some electronic flourishes, weird structures and all sorts of just cool little moments.
