Loved this. I was grinning from ear to ear while most of my crowd was covering their eyes.

 

I was originally going to see Naked Gun but the next showing was a like an hour and a half after I got there so I saw this instead. So glad I did.

 

Best witch horror since The Witch

also the funniest non-naked gun scene in ages. my friend and i might’ve laughed harder than anyone else in the also-hysterical crowd. at the end i was like oh THAT’S why they called it cathartic!

 

druggy guy actor was in Euphoria. He was the nice guy boyfriend that was in the play.

I'll also say that last trailer definitely gave way too much away. If you watched it try your best to wipe it from memory before going into this lol.

 

also, when we walked out of the theater, there was a merch guy giving out free vegetable peelers

to me it was very funny

 

Good shit, but I still got Sinners and 28 Years Later at the top.

 

Haven’t seen Sinners but I would put this above 28 Years Later

 

Also what was with the gun in the sky?

 

Metaphor for weapons. It clicked for Brolin that the kids were weapon over after that

 

How come everyone else who was weaponized by the witch's spell was fucked up after, but Brolin was fine? Was it just time?

 

yep, I took it as time under. He was the only one that had just been turned (that wasn't killed)

 

Sinners is a overall better movie but It was more entertaining than it was scary to me. Weapons had me yell "oh fuck!" in the theatre at one point. Two different kinds of horror. Hard to compare them.

 

Man, I fucking loved this. Easily my favorite horror of the year. Crowd seemed to eat it up too. I wasn’t super sold on Barbarian, but this one was the real deal imo. Big sucker for witches, and this was a great one.
