I like Eddington a lot but it's overstuffed and just shy of great. Definitely cracks my top 10, probably not my top five. Companion isn't a particular artsy choice or anything, but I just really had a blast with it.
I gotta say I do not understand the universal praise this movie has gotten. I thought it was a fun time at the theater and haven’t thought much about it since. Sitting at #16 for me right now ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I guess it's 3 for me behind One Battle and Eddington. A lot of the 2025 movies that I've seen (not many) have stunk.
Lots of stuff I still need to see. Avatar in late December, One Battle, Black Phone 2, Predator Badlands, Keeper...
Weapons, Left Handed Girl, Sentimental Value, Bring Her Back, Friendship, One Battle After Another, Bugonia, A Useful Ghost, Lurker, Companion, Sinners, Together, One of Them Days, Final Destination Bloodlines, Ugly Stepsister A solid top 15, good year for movies
watched this last night for the first time since the theater. was the scene where alex was feeding the kids soup in the theater release? i do not remember that scene and it deeply unsettled me last night lol
Well, this was pretty awesome. The final chase scene was so funny. im too tired to go into details but yeah really liked this. Didn’t realize til the credits that the old lady was being played by Amy Madigan of Field of Dreams fame, pretty cool. “I’ve never eaten a hamburger” because they’re for workers and chickens are more elegant is the best thing I’ve ever seen written on this site i think.
