Caught an afternoon showing of this. Only maybe ten people in the theater and I laughed out loud several times by myself. That always feels weird, so disagree with the person who said something about wanting a silent theater a few pages back. I like the group experience of watching in theaters. I remember when I watched Parasite, there was a collective gasp/groan at that amazing sequence when it ended with the fake bloody napkin in the trash. It was awesome and I'll never forget how you could feel everyone in the theater just enthralled by that scene. Anyways, loved this and I'm excited to watch again. What a satisfying catharsis there at the end.
Yeah the car/scissors scene is one of my favorite audience reactions ever and I like how universal that particular reaction seems to be across the board. Every comment section under any video or news article about the movie inevitably brings it up.
I want a silent theater in that I don’t want to hear talking, wrappers crinkling, chewing, phones. Hearing the audience laugh or gasp is fun
Oh dang, that reminds me... I think this was the moment my hand swung up to my mouth and I knocked my phone to the ground. I ruined the moment! I get what you guys mean by the phone. People are always dropping their phones and today that person was me!
I thought the Magnolia of it made it drag a little, but once it got cooking, my god. The last 15 minutes or whatever had me DYING laughing. Well done, Zach.
