There was some disturbing imagery and creepiness for sure, but the person I watched it with and I both agreed it wasn't really scary.

Although, I did get scared when I was alone in the shower after the fact when my cat was making noises in the other room hahaha. Kept ripping the shower curtain open and trying to stare down the pitch black hallway without my glasses on

I love how differently horror affects everyone. Movies RARELY scare me and the only three that come to mind when asked about ones that genuinely scared me are Hereditary, Wake in Fright, and Skinamarink.

I thought The Conjuring was scarier than the movies I mentioned above tbh

The last movie to legit scare me and make me turn lights on and shit was hell house llc. Found footage stuff gets to me and I ate an edible before watching it.

When I hear close your eyes / look away, I think of Martyrs. Probably saw more wall than movie for that one.

but that’s mostly the extreme gore and brutality, even then I’m like, was that scary or just excessively graphic?

I’d say this movie is more creepy than scary. Only films I’ve seen that I found to be legit scary were hereditary, the conjuring, and grave encounters.

Existential horror involving children is a no-go for this soft dad.

Hereditary gave me nightmares and there were images in that thing I kept seeing when I closed my eyes for days after seeing it: That’s the scariest movie I’ve seen in recent memory. But usually with horror I’m not grading it on how “scared” I actually was

Skinamarink didn’t scare me, but Heck, the short it’s based on, really unnerved me. Thought it worked better as a short film. But either way, I had a huge fear of the dark growing up and that (and the “Paranormal Activity” movies) really tap into that.

Skinamarink is the only movie I think that has ever “scared” me. Many horror movies have inspired me to look away or have left me with dread, but few manage to actually get me with a jump scare.

Last time I was absolutely terrified by a movie was Paranormal Activity. Feels extremely quaint now but god I remember wanting to throw up from anxiety and then me and my homie just stood and chatted in the movie theater parking lot until midnight cuz neither of us wanted to go home lol.

Yeah idk why the paranormal activity movies never really did anything for me. Everyone else seemed to think they were very scary
