Waxahatchee Band

  1. Waxahatchee is an American indie music project, formed in 2010 by the American singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield.

love her even if I didn't love the new record

  3. Neither of the last two have really stuck with me, but American Weekend will always be a really special record. She just announced a show in Chicago with Allison opening, so I'm really hoping they play a few PS Eliot songs.

cerulean salt is one of my fav records ever and will always mean a lot to me

last one was good but i didn't connect with as much. american weekend is great but i haven't spent enough time with it

saw her live the other day for the first time in two years. the vibe was cool (it was a band + movie thing in an actual seated movie theater where they screened a film then katie played) but the song arrangements were pretty boring. she played mostly american weekend songs

Ivy Tripp was my AOTY, love her with a full band. All three of her albums are perfect to me though, I found her at a really important time in my life so I've got a pretty soft spot for everything she's done.

I thought Ivy Tripp was the best Waxahatchee release overall.

    an existential crisis mixtape

Cerulean Salt will always be my favorite. Full band live versions of American Weekend songs have me enjoying those songs a lot more. P.S. Eliot is gonna be playing in Don Giovanni's music festival in Asbury in September.

Absolutely loved Ivy Tripp. She did something different, and it really worked out for her.

Brother Bryan and I Think I Love You might be in my top 10 songs of all time.

I adore Katie and Ivy Tripp was my favorite record of 2015. It helped me get through so much. I love that if you listen to the record on repeat, Bonfire just kind of fizzles out and loops back into Breathless.

If it wasn't for Depreston from Courtney Barnett, Air would have been my favorite song released last air.

Loved American Weekend, but didn't properly check out the last two. Anyone wanna recommend some songs?

Off of Cerulean Salt, Swan Dive is probably one of the more popular ones (it's pretty great), I also personally love Hollow Bedroom and Lips and Limbs. From Ivy Tripp I'd recommend Under a Rock, La Loose, Air, and Bonfire.

Cerulean Salt is incredible. The version of "Swan Dive" she does live is pretty dope, very grungy

Off Cereulean Salt I'd go for Brother Bryan, Lively, and Coast to Coast

Ivy Tripp I'd do Under a Rock, <, and Half Moon

I haven't heard any of these songs yet so I'm looking forward to grabbing that. Also, there's a bit of a gap between that fest in Halifax and the last date of that tour. Hoping that maybe a Toronto show gets squeezed in there.

Also, what's the best release to start with for P.S. Eliot?

I know. Didn't think there'd be more than a few but it felt like nobody talked about it when it first happened, hah.

    damn, nothing near austin.

i like her more as a full band but the solo electric performance she did at SXSW was a lot of fun. hopefully we get some new music soon

I've still not seen her so I'm just excited to get the chance, full band or not.
