In addition to the others suggested, I'd throw this one out there: Kathleen Edwards - Failer. Also if you like Car Wheels, Lucinda's self-titled is extremely good too
Think “Witches” is my favourite at the moment but I’m still blown away by “Oxbow”. It just sounds so destabilizing. Killer opener.
was not a fan of this project up until this record, but most of these tracks hit hard so consider me a convert. the best vocal phrasing i've heard this year, she has such a knack for these long melodies that float over the bar line and pummel you. "scientific cryptogram LIT UP behind the sunbeam" fuck me up katie
Just watched the live stream on P4K. Really great. she did oxbow, Fire, lilacs, the eye, hell, witches, and saint cloud and a Jason Molina cover with Kevin Morby.
Wow, definitely getting a ticket for American Weekend. Edit: And doneee, although already regretting not just buying the all-show pass.
Give Cerulean Salt another try, it’s a pretty underrated record in her discography at this point but very close to this one.
