not comfortable calling this her best yet but I am super impressed how seamlessly she pulled off this style
haven't listened to any of her previous stuff... guessing it's not in this vein? where should i start?
I would go backwards starting with her last one out in the storm. It’s a lot more alt rock / pop rock
Since I've been listening to this non-stop since it came out and am in danger of burning it out, I should probably listen to something else for a change. Anyone got any recommendations of similar records to this? I'm sat working from home and it's just a perfect soundtrack.
Lucinda Williams- Car Wheels on a Gravel Road Waxahatchee- Cerulean Salt Waxahatchee- ivy tripp Robert Earl Keen- BEST Faye Webster- Atlanta Millionaires Club Wilco- A.M. Neko Case- Fox Confessor Neko Case- Furnace Room Lullaby Gillian Welch- Revival Gillian Welch- Time Mazzy Star- So Tonight That I Might See Mazzy Star- She Hangs Brightly Jenny Lewis- On the Line Rilo Kiley- More Adventurous Rilo Kiley- The Execution of All Things Adding them as I think on it
Cerulean Salt is the record that sounds most like this imo. I kind of think of it as a country grunge record.
I’ll second the Neko Case rec. Also Jenny Lewis last few albums, Julia Jacklin’s album that came out last year, Kathleen Edwards, and Tift Merrit. edit: The Case/Lang/Veirs album is a good one too.
Bonny Doon is the backing band on this, and i enjoyed their most recent album! Similar laid-back Americana vibe
