Yeah okay if you're comfortable going to shows do not miss her if she comes near you. Truly magical, she's got something really special going right now. Played barefoot the whole show haha and for songs where she wasn't playing guitar she would close her eyes and move her hands around like an old timey storyteller or something, great presence. I was feet from the stage and it was trancelike at times in the best way. She's really channeling something timeless but with her own spin on it and the adaptations of the older songs worked really well still. But mostly Saint Cloud stuff, she played every song on this record. Gillian Welch and Dolly covers too and walked on stage to Big Star, just so up my alley in every way possiblle. Band is great also, shout out to the bassist's harmonies which were awesome throughout and basically constant since Katie is double tracked or more on like every song on this record Opener really impressed me too and the crowd loved them, got some new fans tonight including me. Really nothing but super positive stuff to say about the night haha
Also the tour-only "lilac" color variant of Saint Cloud looks awesome, picked it up since I don't own this as I was between record players and v cash-poor when it came out. Recommend snagging it
i, and what seemed like a lot of the crowd, was also super charmed by katy kirby and their band at the columbus date last week. another immaculate show all around
Got my show coming up at the end of next week I'm getting a little nervous about the vaccination requirement because I never got a card with my second dose. I can pull up my record on the county website, but not sure if they'll accept that
I know this is probably a long shot, but I've got 2 tickets for the sold out show tomorrow in Philly at Union Transfer that I can't use. If anyone is interested, hit me up. Whatever you can put towards them is fine with me, just don't want them to go to waste. Tickets would need to be picked up in Lehigh Valley area (right outside Allentown). Just PM me and they're yours!
This is pretty much what she played, but for my show there was a Townes Van Zandt cover Waxahatchee Setlist at Thalia Hall, Chicago
First time listening to this is a couple of months, it's still so so good. Arkadelphia > Ruby Falls > St. Cloud is absolute perfection. Perfect ending to the record.
