Yeah well much like the Emmy win it’s likely just a recognition of its cultural impact and not an indication of its quality
i was talking about Manhattan, who was mentioned in the post right before mine haha. where are you getting Dreiburg from?
@Anthony_ was saying Lindelof confirmed we wouldn't be seeing Dreiberg this season, not Manhattan. Manhattan was already confirmed to be in it (and will be in the next episode, in some form). haha I was so confused.
It made me go back to watch the comic con teaser to try and find him though, and damn that's a good trailer.
Sooooo many threads, and intricacies all about to collide over the next two eps. If there isn’t a second season I’ll understand, BUT I need more.
Few shows have pulled me in as quick as this show has, which is why i’ll be bummed if this is all we get.
also prob a shout out to the cinematic quality of the filming. Shit was movie level stuff on a TV show. Yeah the writers rushed the ending and sorry but the other aspects of the show were stellar
I watched the first few episodes of GoT earlier this year and got very bored and couldn't keep track of all of the different characters. Everyone says it gets so much better, but like... I don't want to watch several hours of TV before something becomes enjoyable?
I loved the first season but yeah it does take a bit of effort at first to keep all the characters straight. There’s some simple internet guides out there to follow along with as you watch (hbo had something similar to peteypedia but it was more like an episode guide). Just gotta be careful to avoid spoilers haha. The thing that clicked for me in terms of remembering who everyone was was re-watching season 1 after I watched season 2. Not sure why but it worked for me.
Someone wants to talk another show, I'm gonna talk another show! I'm always down for getting people started on shows I like. Which reminds me, I said this in this thread once but I'll say it again: Anyone watching this show needs to go back and watch The Leftovers if you're enjoying the "wtf?" aspects of it. And I spent the first 5 or so episodes of it wondering why I was still watching it other than wanting to know what the hell was going on before it really clicked.
Boooooo. The emotional weight of the first season and all the mysteries of it are awesome. It is definitely somewhat of a downer until the very last scene though haha
it’s also bad television and bad writing. damon has gone on to say as much, himself, haha. this isn’t a hot take by any means.
idk I love the moodiness of The Leftovers S1 but obviously S2 is better and my favorite season of television
