i read it all literally in between two classes one day in college and it was truly one of the most exciting reads i’ve ever had

 

I think it speaks volumes to his film character that his lack of credibility made him justify committing murder to uphold the new status quo. Peacing out then does not make me read him as a messianic figure. That's complex and interesting to me in a different way than the novel.

 

the Reeves stuff is pre-Minutemen, right?

i don’t think so. i believe william was the kid they showed, and his girlfriend/wife mentions the “terrible thing” that happened to his parents

Wow this episode was incredible. It's been incredibly obvious that Reeves was Hooded Justice, but what a fantastic and tragic back story

 

Based on what happened in the theater I don’t think it stops as soon as you look away

 

I swear I recognized the Game Warden's voice in the preview for next week. Also vaguely looked like James Marsden, but I don't think it's him.

Another stellar episode. Wow.

 

Totally called William being Hooded Justice a few weeks ago. Revealing Hooded Justice to be a black man fighting the Klan in New York, and that his legacy was whitewashed over the course of decades of misinformation, was brilliant. Recontextualizing the Minutemen this way was goddamn genius as well. This show really is something else.

New documents up. Lady Trieu is the one who put up the Manhattan booths. Apparently she is also responsible for the ability of people on Earth to see what Dr. Manhattan is doing on Mars. Which obviously calls into question whether or not that’s really happening or if it’s a hoax she’s broadcasting to everyone.

Trieu is also largely responsible for the rise in use of technology in the world of the show. She re-engineered lithium batteries and proved that Dr. Manhattan wasn’t actually causing cancer. Very interesting.

 

Yeah I still wouldn't be surprised if the real Dr. Manhattan is never actually in this series

And, I mean, why would he? He's disillusioned by humanity and left the friggin galaxy

 

A hand with blue skin under a suit jacket is seen in one of the podcast ads after the show. So I’m assuming he’s showing up at some point.

 

to be fair, it’s all the more melancholic because they were whitewashing him, almost literally, at the time of it happening. it’s not even really misinformation. the minutemen deliberately tried to make him look like the thing he was trying to stop.
