It wasn’t porn, it was another scene from American Hero Story. https://www.hbo.com/content/dam/hbodata/series/watchmen/peteypedia/05/memo-internal-affairs.pdf
next episode looks insane but i’m looking forward to the one after more. did NOT expect that final shot.
LG knows way too much and he isn't a true believer in the Seventh Kavalry's cause, from their perspective (and especially from Keene's) he's definitely got to go.
Thought the clear parallels they were trying to draw between LG and Rorschach in the beginning of the episode (eating beans straight from the can with his mask pulled up over his mouth, etc.) were interesting, also.
Just want to point out that this is the second Lindelof show to feature a roadside bar scene with Sturgill playing, Leftovers did it too. This is definitely not a complaint.
Now that we know Veidt isn't on Mars, I wonder if he actually is being held by Manhattan. Maybe it's Trieu that's holding him there?
Idk it's weird because the conversation with the Warden about "god" made it seem like it was Manhattan that put them there, but at the same time it looked like Veidt was on a moon of Jupiter, not on Mars. EDIT: based on the color of the sand and the presence of ice, I’m gonna go ahead and guess Veidt is on Europa
Yeah most people assumed it was Europa. I feel like it has to be Manhattan. And who do we feel like he’s sending the message to save him to?
Seemed like the next word after "SAVE ME" in his message started with "D" so I wonder if it said "SAVE ME DR MANHATTAN", like he was asking Manhattan for help? Not sure but I can't wait to find out.
Also, one thing I've never liked about the Manhattan theory is why would Dr. Manhattan imprison him in the first place? Veidt wasn't declared missing until 2012 (right around the time Trieu Industries bought his company, btw) and his last public appearance was 2007. I've seen people saying Manhattan imprisoned him for what he did with the squid, but if that was the case why would he not have done it until over 20 years later? And in the book, it seemed like Manhattan was perfectly fine allowing Veidt to remain free, as he decided to leave Earth again to create life on other worlds rather than stay and continue to be involved with humanity. It never seemed like he was interested in punishing Veidt, in fact he found what Veidt did to be logical if I recall correctly. I just don't think it adds up perfectly, personally. At least not based on what we know up to now.
Hrmmm I’m just wondering how Lady Trieu or Will or maybe even the government if you went that angle would get him up to a moon of Jupiter. Though i think their motives are a lot clearer than Manhattans would be
The 7K somehow have their hands on a teleporter so who knows what a massive corporation or the government can do.
warden = manhattan 1000% zero chance that the line about manhattan taking up human form again was a throwaway, even if it came from a conspiracy nut
