Loving this so far. That summary of the graphic novel that was posted in this thread a little while ago was really helpful and provided a lot of context.
Is there information on where the clones came from? If we are assuming they are from Manhattan, could the male clone be what Osterman looked like?
The Peteypedia mentions in one of the documents that Veidt perfected cloning technology at some point between 1985 and 2019, using it to make back a large amount of the money he lost when people turned against his Manhattan-tech electrical car charging stations following his propaganda campaign that convinced people exposure to Manhattan was cancerous.
Cool details about the soundtrack's release: The Watchmen soundtrack liner notes are full of new world-building and backstory
Going through PeteyPedia. Love that Elvis apparently faked his death then performed in a bar in Vietnam.
Or is it the real original Elvis? Bizarre that he returned to only sing songs with the word "blue" in them (obvious Dr. Manhattan nod). Possible clone from Veidt's testing?
At first I thought Veidt launched the clone into space somehow but now it makes sense that he sent him off past the border of whatever prison he's being held in and out into Mars and had him tethered to pull him back in when he died.
Was looking forward to the first volume score today but I guess it’s only vinyl being released not digital on those announced dates :(
I thought at first the same machine that had pulled up the car with the kid from the first episode in it had done the same to the car at the end of the episode.
I like that the show is more realistic in what would happen to someone outside the boundary. In the comic, when Manhattan brings Laurie to Mars, she's only unable to breathe, but has no other side effects
I'm not watching this because Lindelof, but glad to hear it's good. Now I want a remake of Watchmen with the actual cloth costumes and giant squid and shit. Also impressed that he's coming at it from an Alan Moore perspective (i.e., mainly hard left). Rorschach isn't doing ninja moves under cool lighting and shit Oh fuck, maybe I'll watch it. I dunno. Lindelof
Uhoh. What did Lindelof do other than butcher the end of Lost (which I've never seen btw, just have seen lots of outrage over it)?
Are you saying that Dr. Manhattan has a small member? The dude can manipulate atoms and shit, surely he could enlarge that shit.
