reading all the theories everyone has regarding Veidt is pretty entertaining, some wild ones out there
This remains fucking awesome. The background of the dr. Manhattan phone booth being downtown Decatur was very distracting for me tho lol
Someone noticed it looks like you can see the earth next to the sun when Veidt stands next to Phillips body
Dan and Laurie were apprehended in the 90s for continuing their vigilante work. Laurie cut a deal and went to work for the feds, Dan didn’t and is still in prison. It’s why Keene convinced her to go to Tulsa by saying when he’s president he’ll pardon Dan and get him out of prison.
Peteypedia Updated with more materials. Also, the agent compiling these documents in-universe is the one Laurie takes with her to Tulsa.
Gotcha. I did know about all of that stuff from Peteypedia but missed the line where Keene said he would pardon Dan. I just meant I'd like a little more elaboration about the details about what went down between them, like why she made the deal but why he wouldn't, how they got caught, etc
Also..I just can't think of why Manhattan would imprison Veidt on Mars. Why now? Why not after the staged alien attack? Jon seemed fine to leave Veidt behind on Earth at that point to leave the galaxy. I think there's more to it than what people are thinking
seems like the most obvious guess but i’m assuming Veidt is on mars and manhattan is the game warden (there was a line in a previous episode about him being able to take human form again). my assumption is Veidt is trying to build a suit to sustain exploration on Mars/back to earth and Manhattan is, for obvious reasons, trying to prevent that
This has been good and fun so far but also it's politics seem........nonsensical at best. Which is a shame considering how central the politics of the original were
