    Although I can't for the life of me get into his new album after at least a dozen play throughs, the songs do well here live. He has such an incredible voice, its unnecessary for all the effects over it in my opinion.

    The songs wouldn't have nearly as much impact if they didn't have the effects on his voice. You may not like them, but they absolutely play a central role in the feel and themes of the album. He's been playing around with vocal manipulation forever.
