Scene Queen getting pushed to play absolutely last and having her song removed from the compilation is pretty lame.
So RJA opened and closed with Face Down? That's pretty weird. Never heard of something like that being done before.
song got submitted and approved, no one told her til after the cd was finished that her song was removed because it was controversial. She didn’t get a heads up or a chance to submit another track.
Fun fact, Billy Rae Cyrus used to do that with Achey Breaky Heart in the '80s/'90s. Open, close and play it in a medley.
I see it more at "anniversary" shows of bands celebrating the 10th, 20th, etc. of a certain record where they play the big single in the right order, sequentially, and then do it again for the encore. NFG, Yellowcard, and The Ataris come to mind for that situation.
She said on stage that they told her they couldn't put "18+" on the compilation because it was "too controversial". She then played it last and let the fans fill in who they thought it was about.
Listening to Saosin's Warped Tour stream right now, and they sound so good. I'm so happy that Cove continues to sound so good as he ages. He's consistently a far better singer now than when he was first in Saosin. I'm sure he's put a ton of work in, and it clearly shows.
This weekend absolutely felt like Warped Tour. From the crowds to the outfits to the merch booths, the vibe was very much how it used to be. They did a great job of accommodating 35k people without losing the OG Warped feel.
I watched some of MGK's livestream cuz it popped up on my youtube feed for some reason, and it was crazy seeing such a massive Warped Tour main stage with giant screens and everything. It made me feel like an old cranky man. Also, MGK sounded fucking bad so that didn't help.
I’ve watched a handful of sets on YouTube the last couple days (bands I like, not MGK) and it looked like a great time. Hoping by some miracle they expand this to Toronto next year. Huge city starved for a fest that caters to this world of music
Everyone can hate on MGK but he put on a good show. The stream showed him and the audience having a good time
Just watched some of the Dance Hall Crashers set. Might make it a point to catch them at Riot Fest now. Also if we’re doing wishful thinking for next year, I’m crossing my fingers they make their grand return to Randall’s Island.
Was pleasantly surprised by how tight the older acts were. Incredibly stoked to see DHC at Riot and Less Than Jake this Thursday!
