You’re not wrong. I’m pretty sure The Offspring/Bad Religion/Pennywise/The Vandals was a tour in 2014
As for Saosin and Sleeping With Sirens on Orlando there were boxes that would fit them up until the box shuffling a few days ago so something must’ve changed recently.
They've been teasing 5/19 (day after Rockville) as the drop for Orlando, but "more bands and surprises" for DC and Long Beach. There's been some precedent with past tours having bands add on in the week or two before the shows and some even showing up as a surprise altogether, I'd never put it past them to have a few tricks up their sleeves especially with the shows sold out so it wouldn't really affect ticket sales.
Ah interesting, didn't know these tours shaped up a whole year before. Also, The Offspring needs some heavy hitter support if they want to do sheds. NFG ain't gonna cut it.
I feel like orlando started early with the best lineup and ended with the best one too which makes me surprised overall they were the most to complain on social media, us in long beach we wanted some of the same bands and maybe a little bit of punk bands too, the lineup ended up being pretty decent i'm excited about the surprise bands the week of warped tour
I think the offspring simple plan sum41 tour did really well, the could be trying to mimic that, with slightly lower drawing bands. Or could downgrade to the venues the the AAR/nfg tour did: some smaller amps, some full size, some all ga fields etc. I'm sure live nation would be fine with filling their own 15k cap amphitheaters with 5k on a Tuesday night.
Yep, it was the Smash 20th anniversary tour. We had BR, Pennywise, and Stiff Little Fingers at our show.
Offspring are doing "Come Out And Play" night with the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow night where they'll have custom jerseys and venue exclusive copies of their latest record available. Maybe we get some news on their tour plans then.
NFG/AAR drew 14k, last summers headlining tour did venues up to 4.5k. I think NFG will be great top support.
Interesting that originally The Offspring and AAR were supposed to tour, then AAR drop off WWWY because of timeslot placement, and then AAR were gonna tour with Jacks Mannequin which also got canned. Just a coincidence, or is AAR just difficult to work with?
Can't speak for every city but in my area, day of, you could still buy GA Pit tickets so I imagine it was like 50-60% full at best but that is often par for the course with shed tours.
I like that they release this image with all the acts added today. Easier to see who is new to the lineup
Also I'm like 85% confident Magnolia Park is one of the blurred names in Orlando. It's their hometown, but they have a headline show there this spring which is probably holding up their announcement, but come on: They fit perfectly in that slot
