And tbh i expected a "bigger name" to be dropped at least once a day too. It's gotten to the point where I stopped checking...and people are now less likely to check these new bands out because people are souring hard. I was very into the roll out but agree with you. Now...not so much
This was my thought as well. People were excited about discovering Chandler Leighton (I think it was her) but the same day they announced Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup and Pennywise. But when in a single day you announce 5 acts no one has ever heard about, most people wont care enough to give them a listen.
I'm sorry but everyone in here memeing about all of these absolutely random ass bands getting announced with the (very much on point) ridiculous name trend pointed out by @cricketandclover, only for the very next band announced to be called DEATHBYROMY is just too funny.
You're likely not wrong.. I just hope some of the bands I do know are added to the show soon, rather than just their openers :) We'll see!
Yeah the long waves of lesser known bands is a puzzling strategy. I feel like announcing a quarter of the lineup every Monday for a month would have been more effective and led to less negativity since you’d have bigger bands in every announcement.
If all the best bands playing so far were playing all three shows i'd be a pretty decent lineup so far but instead it is a scattered mess with a bunch of returning bands I don't care about
If they announced 15 big/well known bands as Warped Tour 2025, people would probably be stoked. So think of it as that, and these smaller bands are just sprinkles on the cake. They’re obviously (hopefully) saving all the bigger ones for last.
It’s more a “hopefully” than “obviously” for me currently. If that’s the case then this will be fine. If not, yikes
